MARY PORTAS OPENS TWENTY FIRST LIVING & GIVING SHOP IN KEW VILLAGE
Following growing success, Mary Portas will announce the opening of the twenty first Living & Giving Shop for Save the Childrenin Kew Village on Friday 2nd December 2016. The new shop will be jam-packed with must have pieces kindly donated by premium/luxury brands and retailers. We have collated an exciting selection of donations for the store which include pieces from Burberry, Chloe for Kids, Folk and Aquascutum.

Taking inspiration from the surrounding Kew Garden’s glass houses, designer Hannah Rampley has collaborated with the Mary’s Living & Giving team, to create a store design that celebrates the area’s floral beauty and botanical habitat. Aiming to create a snapshot of life inside the garden’s glasshouses, Hannah has designed a mural wall comprising of tropical birds; birds which she imagined would live in the original environments all of Kew’s beautiful plants originated from.
Other stand-out features include an exclusive Living & Giving Christmas range of decorations and cards, an abundance of welcoming spaces inviting the community to come in and try on spectacular donated pieces and exclusive notebooks and cushions from shop designer Hannah Rampley.

At 17:00pm, Mary Portas and Richard Deverell, Director of Royal Botanical Kew Gardens and Kew Village, Shop Manager Lynsey Scott, will officially welcome customers, including Kew’s local residents, to witness the opening of the shop’s doors for the first time.  Neighbours and shoppers will be invited to come and visit for a new unique charity shopping experience where sparkling wine and mince pies will be served against a backdrop of local singing groups – there will even be a spot of face painting available for children!
All profits from sales in store go directly to Save the Children who help the world’s most vulnerable children and their families.

Mary Portas says:
“I am thrilled to announce the opening of the newest edition of my Living & Giving shops.   Kew Village is a fabulous location and the sense of community here  is second to none. We are looking forward to getting to know our neighbours and opening up this unique botanical space full of reflections of the area’s natural beauty. It is my hope that the new shop will become a unique community hub full of pre-loved gems for the residents of Kew and that the shop receives the same amount of generous love and support of our other twenty Living & Giving shops”.
Save the Children is appealing for more donations from residents, fashion houses and local artisans, as well as for local volunteers to work in the shop to help it to become a success.
