About Queenscourt Hospice
About This Shop
Queenscourt Hospice is an independent purpose-built Hospice providing specialist adult palliative care for the communities of Southport, Formby, and West Lancashire.
Our wide-ranging services are available to all those with serious and life-limiting illnesses. Within a supportive setting, we combine specialist medical and nursing care along with traditional and complementary therapies taking an individual and holistic approach for each patient.
As well as our ten bedded in-patient unit the Queenscourt at Home service has proved very successful in giving patients in the community access to the very best of clinical excellence in their own homes.
Our Day Therapy Unit has for many years offered specialist therapies and activities and this has now been developed into Queenscourt Connect, a new service which although it still offers these services has become more patient-focused responding to individual patient’s needs and wishes and giving them much more flexibility, we provide our patients with transport, if required, and our lunches and afternoon teas will tempt even the poorest appetites.
The service we provide is completely free of charge to all who need it. It costs in the region £8000 a day for us to provide the services we do and does not include a large amount of time and skills freely given by our volunteers.
To help fund our services we have eight charity shops situated throughout our catchment area, selling donated goods, and a small amount of bought-in goods, these shops are vital to the continued financial viability of our Hospice, providing us with a regular income stream, to enable our clinical team to have the resources needed to continue to deliver the very best specialist Hospice service available.
