About LIFE
About This Shop
LIFE supports disadvantaged children and young people in the UK; helping them turn their lives around and work towards a brighter future. We have 3 main branches:
Housing: 24 supported accommodation projects across the UK combine shelter with a holistic approach to support and prepare young pregnant women/mothers with small children for successful independent living. Five floating support services provide tailored support to young parents in their own homes.
Care: A network of centres, a national helpline and text to talk service provide free non-directional counselling services to anyone facing a crisis pregnancy, suffering from pregnancy loss or coping with the after effects of abortion. Practical support is provided for struggling pregnant women or new families, such as pushchairs, cots and clothes, and up-skilling workshops are offered to develop new parents’ skills and confidence.
Education: An education programme delivered in schools and colleges provides young people with up-to-date, evidence-based information on topics relating to sex and relationships.
Our charity shops differ from most in that they exist not purely in order to support our services but also often host care centres which offer front line support to parents and pregnant women who need our services.
