About Emmaus
About This Shop
Whether you’re furnishing a new house or just fancy brightening things up a bit, you can always pick up a bargain for your home at Emmaus. Emmaus shops sell a wide range of good quality second-hand furniture, white goods and electrical appliances, homewares, records, clothes, toys and books and often have great vintage or retro finds. Many Emmaus shops also sell unique items made from waste materials, upcycled or refurbished in on-site workshops. Some of our social enterprises also run cafés, garden centres or gardening maintenance services.
Do you have furniture or household goods that you no longer need? Don’t dump them, donate them! Emmaus can collect items free of charge in areas where we have shops. Emmaus offers formerly homeless people a home, meaningful work in a social enterprise and the chance to regain self-respect in supportive communities. The companions – as residents are known – work full time or to the best of their ability in the social enterprises collecting items from the public, renovating furniture, or serving customers. The income generated by Emmaus communities is fed back into the charity and enables them to help others in need. To see items Emmaus is selling on eBay, visit www.emmaus.org.uk/ebay.
