About Exodus Project
About This Shop
The Exodus Project is a children’s charity, with a Christian ethos, based on the Barnsley/Wakefield border, in Yorkshire. We were registered with the Charity Commission in June 2002.
Through a network of weekly activity clubs, Exodus is diverting children and young people from destructive lifestyles and helping them to realise their potential. Our work is not just about getting kids off the streets and into meaningful activities. That’s the easy part. We are about building trusting and lasting relationships with children and young people and investing in the disadvantaged communities in which many of them live. As well as the activity clubs, our work involves activity holidays, home visiting, schools work, and community engagement. In partnership, we are making a difference.
We currently run clubs for children aged 8-11, and separate clubs for older young people aged 11-15. All those attending, as well as having great fun, learn the importance of respecting others and working as a team.
We currently have two charity shops, one in Cudworth at 208 Barnsley Road, Barnsley S72 8UJ, and one in Barnsley at 20 Cheapside, Barnsley S70 1RR. Cudworth opens Monday to Friday from 9 am to 4 pm and Saturday from 10 am till 3 pm, and Barnsley is from Tuesday to Saturday from 10 am till 4 pm.
The shops help us to fulfill our mission to help reduce pollution and landfill, something which we teach the children in our clubs. They are also a good way to generate income for our charitable work.
