About This Shop
LOROS, The Leicestershire and Rutland Organisation for the Relief of Suffering, is a local charity whose aim is to enhance the quality of life of patients with cancer and progressive neurological conditions (for example Motor Neurone Disease) and also patients with end-stage heart, kidney, and respiratory failure for whom curative treatment is no longer possible. 2,250 patients each year will access the services provided either at the hospice, in the patient’s own homes, or at Manor Croft our Palliative Day Therapy Unit.
These services include a Counseling Service for patients and their families, Lymphoedema Clinics, Medical Outpatients Clinics, Complementary Therapy Clinics, a Community Nurse Specialist Team, and Family Support Services. The demand for our services grows each year and in order to provide these services free of charge to patients and their families, we have to fundraise in the community and betony. Over 92% of the money raised is spent on patient care. The charity relies on the support of the local community and businesses in order to raise these vital funds.
