About Derian House
About This Shop
Situated in the heart of Lancashire, Derian House is renowned throughout the region as being at the forefront of children’s palliative and respite care.
Families who have a child with a life-shortening condition can choose from a range of care and support services to meet their individual needs which include; short planned breaks in Derian House, Hospice at Home, Sibling support group, end of life care, and support at home, or in Derian House, and Bereavement support after the death of a child.
We are currently supporting more than 300 families who have a child with a life-shortening illness, and a further 200 who are receiving bereavement support. For them, the Derian House is the means by which they deal with the highs and lows of their child’s illness and its aftermath.
It costs around £2.9 million per year to be able to provide these services to families across Lancashire, Cumbria, and parts of Greater Manchester.
The shops are a fantastic outlet for us to sell not only used donated items from the public, but other stock such as promotional items, hospice appeal items such as Christmas/ Easter Beanies, stationery, and giftware. We accept small electrical goods which are in good condition. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept any white goods like washing machines, dishwashers, and the like, gas and electric cookers, or old-style televisions.
We are able to come along and collect any larger items if you are struggling to transport them.
Thank you so much for your support.
