About Bolton Hospice
About This Shop
Bolton Hospice provides specialist palliative care to people aged 18 and over in Bolton with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses, at the hospice, and also in patients’ homes. The nurses, fundraising staff, and volunteers are all dedicated to improving the quality of life of patients whilst also supporting their families and people close to them.
Bolton Hospice Charity Shops are relatively unique in the fact that they don’t have paid staff in each shop. This has a huge impact on how much their shops raise, which of course goes directly to patient care!
Bolton Hospice likes to stay true to the fundamental roots of why their charity shops were first established – to have volunteer-led shops that provide an affordable service to the people of Bolton whilst raising vital funds to care for local people.
Hospice shops manager Cathy said, “We listen to our customers, we like them to get a bargain and we like them to know that what they’re spending will make a difference to someone’s end-of-life care!”
Each year Bolton Hospice has to raise over £2.5 million and they rely almost entirely on the kindness and generosity of local people to do this.
